In the Latin, Extradition means “delivering up from out,” which is exactly what we usually do: searching out experimental compositions from past and present, near and far, and performing them for our concert audiences.
Our new series, Intradition, flips that script by offering a welcoming space where anyone can participate, bringing out the music that’s inside them.
Intradition 01 will focus on open improvisation, following three simple rules:
All are welcome — to play, to listen, or both
Music’s soul is free, but freedom’s twin is responsibility
Shhh: the neighbors might be sleeping
Acoustic instruments are preferred, but we’ll have extension cords and power strips for plug-ins.
Where & When: Leaven Community, 5431 NE 20th Ave., PDX. Doors 6:30pm, music 7pm.
